Theme Song for Japanese TV Series & Film “Teasing Master Takagi-san


Aimer's brand new song ‘haruka’ (Japanese title:「遥か」) is coming out April 2 0:00!
The song is the theme song for the Japanese live-action TV series & film “Teasing Master Takagi-san” (Japanese title:「からかい上手の高木さん」) that is adapted from the popular manga under the same title.
The TV series started airing on Netflix from March 26, and will be broadcasting on Japanese TV on April 2. After the TV broadcast of episode 1 Aimer's ‘haruka’ will be out for download & streaming.

The song “haruka” is written and composed by Yūsuke Tanaka, who has produced songs for artists such as Aimyon and Ikimonokari, and the song was produced by Kenji Tamai.
The story of “Teasing Master Takagi-san” is based on a popular manga written and illustrated by Sōichirō Yamamoto. The story depicts the daily life of the two main characters teasing each other and falling in love with each other.
The manga series has been a huge hit, selling more than 12 million copies. For the live-action adaption, the film is set a decade after the events of the TV series, which is based on the manga, stars Mei Nagano and Fumiya Takahashi as the two main characters. The film will be in theaters on May 31 in Japan. Below are the trailers featuring the theme song “haruka.”

■About Aimer
Japanese singer. At the age of 15, Aimer suddenly lost her voice due to overuse of her throat by singing, but a few years later she got a unique husky and sweet singing voice.
Aimer made her major debut with single “Rokutosei no yoru” in 2011. Later on in September 2016, she released her 4th album “daydream" which includes her representative song “Chouchou Musubi” and the album topped the iTunes album chart in Japan. In 2019, she released her 16th single “I beg you / hanabiratachinomarch / Sailing” which topped the weekly single Oricon chart for the first time in her career.
Her song ‘Zankyosanka’ for the worldwide popular anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” as its season 2 opening theme became a global hit soon after release in 2022. The song holds at #1 for the seventh week in a row on the Billboard Japan's “JAPAN HOT 100” and set an all-time record in Billboard JAPAN history. It also topped Billboard Japan's 2022 year-end Japan Hot 100, the comprehensive song chart that includes CD sales, streaming, and video views.
Aimer won the "64th Japan Record Award Special Award" at the end of 2022 and made her first appearance at the 73rd NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen singing ‘Zankyosanka’. The worldwide hit song was included in her 7th studio album titled “Open α Door” that came out on July 26th 2023.
