Bandai Namco Entertainment opened a website on Thursday to announce that it will release a Osomatsu-san Matsu Matsuri! (Mr. Osomatsu: Matsu Festival!) "variety game" based on the Mr. Osomatsu television anime series. Bandai Namco Entertainment will release the game on the Nintendo 3DS on December 22.
The game's standard edition and download edition retails for 4,800 yen (about US$46), and the limited edition retails for 6,800 yen (about US$66). The limited edition comes with six 5.6 centimeter (2.2 inch) badges with new designs featuring the six Matsuno brothers.
The Animate retail chain is additionally offering a themed New Nintendo 3DS bundle for the game. The bundle retails for 24,800 yen (about US$239) and includes the New Nintendo 3DS, the game, the six badges from the limited edition, and an as-yet unannounced bonus.
In the game players choose to play as one of the Matsuno brothers and play various mini-games. Playing the mini-games unlocks illustrations, voice recordings, and up to 100 popular scenes from the television anime series. The game will also feature a clock, timer, and calculator functions.
The Mr. Osomatsu anime series premiered last October, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
The anime is also inspiring the Osomatsu-san The Game Hachamecha Shūshoku Advice: Dead or Work (Mr. Osomatsu The Game Nonsense Employment Advice: Dead or Work) PlayStation Vita game from Idea Factory's Otomate brand — which develops otome romance simulation games intended for female players. The game is slated for 2017.
