Ensemble Stars! voice actors Shintarō Asanuma (Leo), Shin'ichirō Kamio (Kurō), Kazutomi Yamamoto (Sora), and Jun Oosuka (Mika) announced at the "Monthly Ensemble Studio! in KyoMAF" event at the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair on Sunday that the Ensemble Stars! On Stage stage play is getting a sequel titled Ensemble Stars! On Stage: Take Your Marks! in January in Tokyo and Osaka.
The play will run at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo from January 1-15, and then will run at Osaka's Umeda Arts Theater from January 25-29. Masanari Ujigawa is directing the play and Muck Akazawa is writing the script.
The first stage play is getting VR software for the PlayStation VR that will run for 18 minutes and will feature the songs "ONLY YOUR STARS!" and "Singin'☆Shine!," as well as footage from the in-story idol group Trickster's dressing room.
Ensemble Stars! On Stage adapts Happy Elements K.K's smartphone game about male idols. The "idol-training produce game" takes place at a private boys' idol-training school with a history of turning out many great talents in show business. The protagonist is the school's lone female student who transfers to the school because of a special situation, and enters the school's producer department. Novelist Akira (Sasami-san@Ganbaranai) wrote the original scenario for the game.
The first play ran in Tokyo in June. The smartphone game also has a planned television anime adaptation.
