Princess Maison Manga About Apartment-Searching Woman Gets Live-Action Series
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
A live-action television series adaptation of Aoi Ikebe's Princess Maison manga has been green-lit. The drama will star Aoi Morikawa in the lead role of Sachi Numagoe. The series will premiere on NHK BS Premium on October 25, and will run for eight episodes.
The manga centers on Sachi Numakoshi, a single woman who goes around looking at model rooms, constantly dreaming and searching for her dream apartment.
Ikebe (Dobugawa - Our life is connected., Kagome Kagome, Saudade) launched the manga in Shogakukan's Yawaraka Spirits web manga site in 2014. Shogakukan published the manga's second compiled book volume on February 12. The manga ranked 10th on the 2016 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook, and won the Special Award of Kodansha's Frau women's magazine's third Manga Awards last year.
Ikebe's Tsukuroi Tatsu Hito manga previously inspired a live-action film that opened in January 2015.
