Anime String Quartet Concert in London on December 3

posted on by Andrew Osmond
City String Ensemble will perform anime music at EartH Theatre near Dalton Kingsland Theatre, performing music from a range of anime

There will be a live string quartet concert of anime music on Sunday December 3 (7.30 p.m.), at the EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney) Theatre, near Dalton Kingsland station. (There is a map at the link.) The music will be performed by the City String Ensemble and is entitled "City String Ensemble: Best of Anime." The quartet has released a 19-minute "Best of Anime" EP on Spotify.

The event is described as follows:

"Immerse yourself in the captivating world of anime as your favourite anime themes and Studio Ghibli soundtracks are brought to life by City String Ensemble at one of London's best kept secrets - EartH Theatre - a converted art deco cinema in Dalston. After the release of their Best of Anime EP in 2022, this concert not only acts as the album release concert they never had but is also the ultimate celebration of anime music performed by string quartet."

The performance will last approximately two hours, with a twenty-minute interval. Attendees must be over 16, and under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult over 21.

A programme teaser says the event will include music from Cowboy Bebop, Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke and more. In addition, there will be a section of the concert where the audience can vote on which songs are performed.
