This year's July issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh announced on May 26 that its new Boogiepop Returns: VS Imaginator manga will launch in the next issue on June 27. Naoki Koshimizu (The Isolator - Realization of Absolute Solitude) is drawing the series based on author Kouhei Kadono and illustrator Kouji Ogata's Boogiepop light novels.
Seven Seas published the novel series' first three volumes — Boogiepop and Others and the two-part Boogiepop Returns: VS Imaginator — and the sixth volume Boogiepop at Dawn from 2006-2008. The company announced in March that it will publish the first six novels in two omnibus volumes, including the previously unpublished fourth and fifth volumes.
A new Boogiepop television anime has been green-lit from studio Madhouse for this year. Madhouse previously animated the Boogiepop light novel series into a 2000 television anime. Right Stuf released the series on VHS and DVD in North America.
Another new manga, Yoshihiro Kawabata's Boogiepop at Dawn (Yoake no Boogiepop) launched in Dengeki G's Comic magazine on April 28.
