Square Enix began streaming the full "Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn Prologue" short anime on Saturday after premiering the short at the Katsucon convention. The end of the anime previews the previously announced "Episode Ardyn" DLC for the Final Fantasy XV game, and announces the DLC will launch on March 26.
Square Enix is also streaming a Q&A video with the staff of the anime short and upcoming DLC.
Crunchyroll also announced on Saturday that it is streaming the anime short worldwide outside of Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
Square Enix also announced on Saturday that it will release a novel titled Final Fantasy XV: The Dawn of the Future on April 25. The novel will tell stories about Ardyn, Aranea, Lunafreya, and Noctis. A "Celebration Box" set in Japan for the novel will feature the novel, a Blu-ray Disc release of the Episode Ardyn Prologue short, an art booklet, an original post card set, and an original coaster. Square Enix stated that the novel is also getting an overseas version.
Square Enix had cancelled the development on the planned "Episode Aranea," "Episode Lunafreya," and "Episode Noctis" DLC. In the above Q&A video, Episode Ardyn DLC producer Yuji Shinoda stated, "we hope to also bring you guys the other stories in one form or another."
