Voice Actor Iemasa Kayumi Passes Away

Michiyoshi Minamisawa, the president of the talent agency 81 Produce, announced on Wednesday that voice actor Iemasa Kayumi passed away on September 30 while undergoing medical treatment. He was 80.
Kayumi's numerous roles include Paragus in Dragon Ball Z Movie 8: The Legendary Super Saiyan, Kurotowa in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Oslo Vislar in Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, Free Planets Alliance High Council Chairman Joan Rebello in Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Lepka in Conan, the Boy in Future, James Black in Detective Conan: Dimensional Sniper, Ryuuchi Kuzuhara in Bartender, Ernst Von Bähbem in RahXephon, Cobra Nefertari in One Piece, Eisuke Hayamizu in Glass Mask (2005), Nanakamado-Hakase in Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl, Father and the Narrator in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Dr. Schrader in Darker than Black, and Team Nemesis Chairman in Gundam Build Fighters. Most recently, he played Dullan in the final episodes of Space Dandy Season 2.
Argurably his best known role in video games was Slayer in the Guilty Gear franchise. In foreign works, he was the voice of Frank Sinatra, Yves Montand, James Garner, and Donald Sutherland in Japanese dubs. He also voiced Bill in the Kill Bill films, Saruman in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Magneto in the X-Men film franchise.
