Gakkō Gurashi! Survival Manga Gets TV Anime
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
The cover of the August issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirarara Forward magazine is announcing on Tuesday that a television anime adaptation of Nitroplus' Norimitsu Kaihō (Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas, Neppu Kairiku Bushi Road screenplays) and Sadoru Chiba's Gakkō Gurashi! (School-Live!) manga has been green-lit.
The story of the manga revolves around girls who decide to stay over at school: the energetic Yuki Takeya, the shovel-loving Kurumi, spacey school adviser Megu, level-headed underclassman Mii-kun, and Rii-san, who brings everyone together. However, through mysterious circumstances, the girls find themselves the final survivors in a zombie attack, and continue to live at the school.
The manga began in the magazine in 2012 with Norimitsu Kaihō from Nitroplus providing the story and Sadoru Chiba penning the art. Houbunsha will ship the fourth compiled volume of the series in Japan on July 11.
