22-year-old Jeremy Tazruk was arrested in Anchorage, Alaska on Friday for allegedly stabbing a victim identified as "T.P." The reported incident allegedly involved a The Legend of Zelda replica sword and led to a campus-wide alert at the University of Alaska - Anchorage.
Police arrived at the scene around 12:30 a.m. on Friday morning. They found an adult male lying with a stab wound on a bicycle path near the university's campus. Anchorage Native Medical Center treated him for a puncture wound on the left side of his ribs.
According to charging documents, T.P was assaulting a female roommate, and he punched a bystander who tried to intervene. The documents state that T.P. punched Tazruk's fiance while she was holding her infant child. Tazruk then allegedly removed the replica sword from a nearby wall and used it to hit T.P. The edges of the blade were reportedly dull, but its tip was sharp. As the fight among the roommates continued, Tazruk allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and struck T.P. when he confronted Tazruk again.
Police charged Tazruk with fourth-degree assault and reckless endangerment. A local news report stated that Tazruk has been released from jail.
