Character Designer Mel Kishida Voices Masked Swordsman in Wooser Episode
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Character designer Mel Kishida, known for his work on the Atelier game series and strange antics, got his second voice acting role in an episode of Wooser's Hand-to-Mouth Life: Phantasmagoric Arc.
Kishida appeared in episode 10 as a mysterious masked swordsman manning a booth at Comiket. He challenges Wooser to a sword fight when the yellow mascot character requests three drawings of girls in school uniforms.
The character design was apparently based on a real image of Kishida.
He also contributed the end card illustration for the episode.
The artist appears to hang out at the Shinjuku bar and restaurant Sake Katsurada where he watched the episode in person.

Kishida made his voice acting debut on the second Rorona, Totori, Meruru no Atelier Variety CD as a "legendary artist." When he isn't drawing, Kishida is building a reputation for his habit of participating in silly stunts. He already crossplayed as Shimakaze from Kan Colle and asked fans to sign his body suit.
