After 447 bids, a special Idolm@ster drama CD auctioned for 301,000 yen (about US$3,900) on the mobile device auction site Mobaoku on October 1. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross to assist with reconstruction of the area affected by the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster.

The auction's winner will choose three voice actors to perform the CD from those who play the 13 idols from 765 Production studio in The IDOLM@STER anime. Possible choices are Eriko Nakamura as Haruk Amami, Akiko Hasegawa as Miki Hoshii, Asami Imai as Chihaya Kisaragi, Mayako Nigo as Yayoi Takatsuki, Azumi Asakura as YUkiho Hagiwara, Hiromi Hirata as Makoto Kikuchi, Asami Shimoda as Ami or Mami Futami, Rie Kugimiya as Iori Minase, Chiaki Takahashi as Azusa Miura, Yumi Hara as Takane Shijō, Manami Numakura as Hibiki Ganaha, or Naomi Wakabayashi as Ritsuko Akizuki.

For the 15-minute CD, the winner will also decide details such as the season, location, and mood of the story. The performance will not include relationships between the idol characters and men. The IDOLM@STER production committee reserved the right to make changes to the drama if it deems the scenario to be inappropriate.

Based on Namco Bandai Games' video game of the same name, The IDOLM@STER television anime follows the story of 13 girls form the 765 Production talent studio as they strive to make a name for themselves in the competiive Japanese entertainment industry. The series began airing in Japan in July, and Crunchyroll is simulcasting the show on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. PDT.
