'The King of Fighters For Girls' Game Delayed to Fall

The official Twitter account for The King of Fighters for Girls, SNK Corporation and Victor Entertainment's spinoff smartphone game in SNK's The King of Fighters franchise, revealed on Friday that the companies are delaying the game from this summer to this fall "in order to deliver a better product."
The game is aimed toward women, and is a "love adventure" game in the style of other otome games. kuren is the main illustrator for the game. The game will be free to play but will have optional in-game purchases. The project is planned as a multimedia project.
In the game's story, the player character loses both her job and her apartment at the same time. She finds a job at a live-in training place as a manager for those who fight in The King of Fighters tournament.
The latest game in The King of Fighters fighting game franchise, The King of Fighters XIV, shipped in Japan and the West in August 2016. A PC version debuted in June 2017. SNK also released The King of Fighters '97 Global Match, a port of its The King of Fighters '97 game, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC in April 2018. SNK is currently developing The King of Fighters XV game.
