I can't believe people were expecting more than 12 episodes. I mean look at the animation. It's pretty much a lock for a second season anyway. |

Only 1 cour for now?
Oh well, it'll have at least three-to-four seasons anyways |

Madhouse is notoriously known for never producing second seasons of any of their shows. If you look at their track record they have only done long productions (like Hunter X Hunter) or one to two cour projects, with the single exception being Chihayafuru. It's very likely that they will animate the events of Murata's manga up to the Boros saga and just stop there. I'm sorry but if there's ever going to be a continuation it's going to be made by another studio entirely. |

Kaiji. Hajime no Ippo. Black Lagoon. Daiya no Ace. Saiunkoku Monogatari. Chi's Sweet Home. Off the top of my head. |

That's cause the sales for those series were at least good. Everything else.... God damn the sales were horrid |

12 episodes of One Punch Man is perfect. not too long and they can hype the second season too. plus the manga hasn't even finish the hero killer arc yet so we'll have to wait.

Sales for Kaiji and Hajime no Ippo were NOT good, especially not for Kaiji. Look it up. Besides, there's nothing weird about doing sequels of the projects that sell well. You are basically saying Madhouse does what every other studio does. Another thing is, there are plenty of good Madhouse shows that don't have a sequel simply because they knew how to adapt the entire material - or deliver the original story - within the allotted time, without shamelessly dragging it out like other studios would. Other times they just axe the ending because the discs are tanking, but that's also common and hardly avoidable. If we're going to talk about studios allergic to sequels, the key word is Brains-Base. They've had massive hits such as Durarara, yet they can't make sequels for the life of them - lucky shows get their license bought by another studio, or else are stuck forever in B-B hell. The only thing they seem to have done a sequel for is that Diabolik Lovers piece of shit, so, you know, I think giving them that ''no sequels'' fame makes far more sense. |

I dont get why One Punch Man should get more than 12-episodes, Madhouse is not Studio Pierrot and Toei, they rely on good DVD and Blu-Ray sales, OPM is just a test market so if this series sell well, it may gets season 2.
By the way, I still laughing for people who expecting season 2 for Shokugeki no Souma, the DVD+Blu-ray sales were horrible and I even liked the anime |

Nice to see OPM fans being so optimistic, when it comes to there being additional episodes post the initial 12. Moreso due to having read comments from Rewrite fans lamenting that that series won't be getting enough episodes.

There are two versions of the One Punch Man manga. The ONE version and the version with better art drawn by Yusuke Murata. The latter is far behind the former. Basically ONE writes the story and releases rough often purposely bad art, and Muruta then improves the art several fold. Due to the sheer amount of time this takes, Murata's version is far behind ONE's.
To put in in perspective, the ONE version is around chapter 103. Murata's version is around chapter 52. Note the latter versions chapter length is often much less than 18 pages per chapter though there are exceptions. The 32nd Punch (Chapter 32) of Murata's version is a whopping 5 pages. One Character we know is going to appear in the anime, Blizzard of Hell is first introduced in the 41st Punch. Remember how many chapters I said Murata's version was up to? Take a wild guess which version the anime is based on. There is not enough material to go beyond one cour so that's all we're getting for now. |

This is bad off what, exactly?
Unless the studio actually owns the title, its irrelevant what studio is producing it.
BD sales are not everything, ontop of that food wars is published in shounen jump.
Brains base did at not point own or hold the Durarara license.. |

And yet we have this news? J.C.Staff is not some low quality studio animation out there, they need fund, fund to make their studio alive. They are not making anime for charity you know? Based on your logic anime from Shonen Jump should get more episodes? How about Nisekoi made by Shaft? It should go more than 100 episodes?
