There are a lot of titles that really need to be liscensed and released over here in America, like:

Crayon Shin-Chan (Movies & Anime)
Battle Royale Live Action
Mahoromatic TV Special
DEAR BOYS

Oh well. At least Columbia Tri-Star's giving us Memories & Steamboy finally.

WOW! WOLF'S RAIN GOT LICENSED??? WHO ON EARTH SAW THAT ONE COMING!11!!1!!

All in all, nothing terribly surprising from Bandai. Mecha shows, maid shows, mecha shows with maids, blah blah blah.

Glad they finally owned up to having the new Ghost in the Shell, though.

I, for one, expected Bandai to secure the rights to Wolf's Rain. As for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, it was Bandai Entertainment property since day one (you'll notice Ken Iyadomi and Rika Davis listed on the Japanese credits).

Wolf's Rain has been a Bandai property too...they are listed as a producer. They just never formally announced the license until AX.

Well, yeah, I knew that, but they haven't formally announced it as theirs until just now.

Ideally, they would've made a big fuss over their license before the show even aired in Japan, in order to combat the overwhelming amount of fansubs, a la Urban Vision and Ninja Scroll. Or, at least, that's what I would've done.

Oh well. I guess that's why they're one of the most profitable anime companies in America, and I'm just some lowly 19-year old nerd sucking down junk food and absorbing radiation from my computer monitor. Alas.
