Congratulations to Bocchi The Rock! Well-deserved, it has great girls and animation, and certainly no male self-insert or relevant males. Goes to show that without all the male mistakes, a girls anime is at its very best. Good for Bocchi and Yama no Susume to be unlike those damn trash like Highspeed Etoile, Birdie Wing, Mahou Kakumei, Uma Musume, and those upcoming "yuri" anime. Bocchi even kicked the asses of Lycoris Recoil and Gundam Witch in the AOYT department thanks to it not being another yuribait cancer like them. I pray that we will see more anime like Bocchi in the near future.

I figure Bocchi for about 16th last year, although it gets high marks for the insert songs. With strong contenders like Spy x Family, Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, The Eminence in Shadow, and Chainsaw Man, I'm at a loss to explain the reasoning of the Trending 2022 board.
Bocchi would have done well to focus more on the music rather than the social anxiety angle. There were plenty of band dynamics that went unexplored in favor of overplayed comedy. Why even build up the Guitarhero persona just to abandon it? All of that social anxiety was enough for 3 cours, and jamming it into a single season left some of the better aspects wanting. |

Bocchi clearly deserved to win ATOY so no surprise there. The Bocchi sweep continues. And wow, that is a much better of a list of nominees than the Crunchyroll awards. And with actual industry participants commenting instead of random Hollywood celebrities. You love to see it.

What you see is just the beginning of her journey, being just joining a band and stuff. And there's nothing that shows her abandoned her guitarhero persona. The theme is mainly her overcoming her anxiey with music, and she at least broke some first wall on that. Realistically, people like her will take time to progress. If you want to know further about the story, you can pick up the manga, its still ongoing. |

Meh. I mean it comfortably makes my top-5 for the year, personally, but I have it a tier below Call of the Night or Lycoris Recoil. Those are 9/10s, Bocchi is 8/10.

It was alright. Way better than Lycoris Recoil. Most musical anime is pretty good, I don't think i've seen one that was terrible.

Pretentious awards by pretentious weebs. People got mad when one show won everything in CR Awards, so where's the uproar here? Of course they don't get mad if THEIR favorite anime won everything. And of course the show can't also be a popular one because damn you if you're popular.
