Science Saru makes a cheerful, upbeat, bubbly Serial Experiments Lain?

(Yes, I was thinking Mamoru Hosoda (Summer Wars), too --- plus just a tiny bit of Kaiba, for some of the character designs, and the singer's voice reminded me of the singer of the Kaiba OP.)
