First of all, a news website posting an article about a newspaper.
Secondly, what are the chances of someone who buys newspapers actually watching the anime?

Big enough, as it's national-wide newspaper. And well, at least it wasn't the Granblue Fantasy level of craziness ad.

The show itself is amazingly fun to watch, doesn't follow the usual isekai crap cliche by having the protagonist not the strongest ever and ever creature around for instance, give developments to pretty much everybody aside from the MC and also overall respected both gender in term of equality. Really nice to see they're spreading the love for this anime.

I must admit I have my doubts but I like the story so far.

This is getting rather common. Anime is mainstream now, even taking over the legacy media?

Erm sure? How do these "people" show their love?

If it is in print sales Slime is well ahead of Goblin Slayer. Like over double the sales in both 2017 and 2018. Odd to show love by not buying and reading the thing.

If it is in anime viewer numbers, I haven't seen anything to indicate GS is well in front.
